Artist Statement:
The approach that I currently use in ceramics is centered on hand-built sculptural forms. My work continues to relay an appreciation for texture and surface design. I am inspired from images of daily life, nostalgic memories and recording time. I enjoy the juxtaposition of combining everyday icons with fine art. The decals in my work are representative of wallpaper or clothing. I use images taken from accessories, such as buttons, hair barrettes, zippers and bows, to make molds to enhance the surfaces of my art. These metaphors encourage viewers to appreciate a moment in time.''
